Once upon a time....
There was a young man who was terribly handsome, extraordinarily charming and suitably rich. He enjoyed life and all that it had to offer, even if he was growing weary of being alone. One evening, he saw a beautiful woman through a storefront window and he knew that his life would never be the same.
The Fates have other ideas....
Before he had the opportunity to meet her he is in a car accident and lost his vision with no knowledge of when – or if – it would return. For several weeks, the image of the gorgeous enchantress was the only light in his dark world and he knew that he had to meet her. So he contrived a reason to go into her store, using his blindness to his advantage as he introduced himself to his dream girl. Sparks flew and he fell madly, passionately in love....
~Blind Attraction~
In a world where image is everything sometimes it takes losing your sight to finally be able to see.

Blind Attraction is 62,000 word contemporary romance that is a little bit of spice and a whole lot of sweet.

I wanted to like this story, and I didn't hate it. But Victoria, the heroine, is apparently the blind one here if she can't see that her "best friend" is just a colossal witch! If someone said some of the things to me that Taylor says to Victoria, I'd deck them. Seriously. Then to find out later who Taylor really was? Wow, it just multiplied my dislike of her for the way she treated Victoria.

Then there's the shallow hero. SPOILER ALERT: When James' sight returns, he can be forgiven for kissing Taylor by mistake. Well, not really. I mean he's been kissing Victoria and has made love with her and he totally ignores the tactile clues that are right there at his fingertips -- literally! But when he gets drunk and calls Victoria? What an incredible horse's behind! And then he agrees to go out with Taylor!!!!!! It just got worse and worse and yes, there's an HEA, but good grief, Victoria seriously needed to hold out for some very intense groveling and sucking up. On top of it all, at one point SHE apologized to HIM!

I hate to only give 3-star reviews, but I just can't give this one any more. Just too many unlikable characters and actions.

SPOILER ALERT

What would you do if you were blind and fell in love with someone who you thought you had seen before you went blind? And then when you regained your sight, it was not the woman you had imagined all the time you were falling in love?

That's essentially the question that the male protagonist needs to figure out. How much of love is looks?

What would you do if you fell in love with someone and then found out that you weren't beautiful enough for him to love? How would you feel about yourself? Where would your confidence in yourself be? Where would your confidence in your love be?

That's the question the female protagonist has to answer.

There are some other twists along the way, some predictable, some not. But it is the fundamental questions above that drive the book. I almost wish that the author had made the girl a little homely instead of very pretty but not knock-down gorgeous. It would have given more impact to the decision that the male character makes and more power to the book.

But it works as written and it is well-written, without the sloppy grammar and spelling found in so many kindle books. Definitely worth a read and a re-read. Kind of a comfort book.
The plot had so much potential a man sees a lovely woman whose image sticks in his mind and shortly thereafter, he's blinded. He can't forget her, and tracks her down once he's on the road to recovery. What a shame that it went downhill from there. The dialogue had me rolling my eyes because it was so ridden with clichés and melodrama. Hey, I love a dramatic story, but this was over the top! Throwing in a paternity plotline did not help; it just added to the messy mix. The heroine had such low self-esteem, and the root cause never made sense. Sure, she has a beautiful best friend, so what? She's lovely, too, and at least she doesn't....SPOILER...sleep around with her friend's boyfriends--as her supposed best friend repeatedly does with the h's boyfriends. The H was such a disappointment shallow, shallow, shallow.

I'm giving it two stars for potential, but overall, it just didn't work.
This was a delightful fairy-tale type story that was about two people that believed in fate and true love in theory, but then had their opportunity to put it to the test.

James is a successful, rich handsome guy who thinks he sees the girl of his dreams one night through a shop window, but doesn't get the chance to pursuit this feeling because he ends up in a bad car accident that leaves him blind and struggling to put his life back together. When he's back on his own feet, he is determined to pursue that girl he saw and hope that she will give a blind man a chance.

Victoria has just opened her shop and crosses her fingers for its success since she's in debt up to her neck to get it all going. Victoria lives a life devoid of romance, but not by choice. She's a bit shy about trying because she has the misfortune of being the beautiful rich girl's best friend. But then fate gives her a chance when James accidentally steps into her shop mistaking her for the dry cleaners next door. When he asks her out, she says yes.

Victoria enjoys this budding relationship with James, but just knows that he'll either eventually come to his senses or if he ever gets his sight back he'll realize his mistake. She doesn't care because James is the best thing that has ever happened to her and she has already lost her heart to him. James gets in way over his head and loses his heart to Victoria. He still has that image of her (which was really a glimpse of Taylor, Vi's best friend) from that quick peak through the window, but knows now that she is so much more than her appearance. He starts thinking forever. But then his sight returns-

This was one of those stories that I knew exactly what the crisis was going to be from the get-go, but it didn't deter me from wanting to read on to find out how it would play out. I enjoyed much of the story with the exception of two things. I really didn't like Taylor, Victoria's best friend. I could have lived with the fact that she was shallow, but she said some pretty hurtful and awful things to Victoria and she unapologetically stole guys from her- best buds don't do that. The other thing I didn't like was something toward the end that I won't detail out to keep from spoiling it. Let's just say someone had a severe over-reaction that was almost out of character. I was confused by the emotions of anger and betrayal and even more baffled with the explanation. The things that bothered me were not enough to make me dislike the book and I thought the epilogue was a cute touch.

Those who enjoy sweet fairy-tale like contemporary romances with a touch of spice will want to give this one a try.
